MSBL: Farmers drop 10th in a row

The Neepawa Farmers lost to the Brandon Marlins by a score of 8-2 in Manitoba Senior Baseball League action on Wednesday night.

Paul Thompson had two hits and three RBI for the Marlins, who improved to 8-3-1 and are in second place in the MSBL standings.

Marlins pitcher Jesse Goertzen threw for seven innings, allowing one earned run, while striking out eight batters to pick up the win on the mound for Brandon.

Ian Kerkowich picked up an RBI for the Farmers, while Josh Loewen took the loss on the mound, going eight innings, allowing six earned runs, while striking out eight batters.

After picking up a win in their opening game over the Oak River Dodgers in late May, the Farmers have dropped 10 straight and are now 1-10 and are in last place in the standings.
