The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League has announced the Chicken Chef Player of the Week and DEKALB Rookie of the Week:

Tucker Scantlebury, Yellowhead Chiefs

Tucker Scantlebury kicked off his season with a bang, scoring six goals and adding a pair of assists in Yellowhead Chiefs’ sweep of Norman Northstars. The 16-year-old native of Foxwarren scored three times and added two assists in Yellowhead’s 5-4 win Saturday, then added his second natural hat trick Sunday in a 9-1 victory. His plus-8 rating helped earn him Chicken Chef Player of the Week honours.

DEKALB Rookie of the Week

Nikko Morin, Pembina Valley Hawks

Playing in his first weekend in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, Nikko Morin scored three of his team’s eight goals and helped the Pembina Valley Hawks start the season with two wins. Morin, the DEKALB Rookie of the Week, scored once in his inaugural game, a 3-2 win over Eastman Selects, then added two more goals, including the game winner, in a 5-4 win over Interlake Lightning.
