Fifth straight loss for Neepawa Natives

The Neepawa Natives have dropped their fifth straight game, after being defeated on Tuesday night by the Dauphin Kings 5-2.

Neepawa fell behind early in the first period, after Mathieu Lapointe scored just under four minutes into the game. Steven Phillips replied for Neepawa with a power play goal at the 14:37 mark. Drake Lindsay and Stephen Mather assisted on the goal. The Natives were unable to go into the first intermission with the tie however, as the Kings scored goals at 17:45 and 19:46.

Dauphin scored their fourth goal of the game just 17 seconds into the second period. The fifth and final goal for the Kings was registered just before the end of the period to make it 5-1.

The lone goal of the third period was registered by Neepawa, as Drake Lindsay scored at the 8:04 mark. Riley Hillis and Jake Schultz each contributed a helper on the second goal of the game for the Natives.

Mitchell Adamyk stopped 22 shots on goal for Neepawa, while Connor Shaw backstopped Dauphin to the victory with 21 saves. With the win, Dauphin improves to 14-18-5 on the season and leapfrog Swan Valley for sixth place in the standings with 33 points. As for the Neepawa Natives, the team remains in 11th place and out of the current playoff picture with 10-24-1 and 21 points.
