Rivers 4-H Beef Club started our year with our first meeting on Sunday, Oct 1. It was decided at that meeting that peewee members can be a full-time member, as long as they have been a peewee previously.

With that vote being passed, we welcomed two new members, Kinley Peters  and Landon Hockley. Elections were held and new positions are: president Camryn Veitch, vice-president Alice Rooke, treasurer Layton Veitch, club reporters Austyn and Kinley Peters. New committees were formed as well, for funday/speeches, picture/sale catalogues, achievement and rally day/parade/Christmas party.

Weigh day was held at the English farm on Dec. 3, followed by a meeting. We had a Christmas party at Thunderbird Bowl, where members took part in bowling, enjoyed a pizza party and gift exchange.

For fundraisers so far, our club has cleaned equipment for MacDon for Ag Days. Looking forward, more fundraisers such as highway clean up and moving cattle for team roping competition is in the works.

On Jan. 7 we had our annual speech night. Some topics were: My New Family Member, How to Build a Fort, My Job and College. Eight members were chosen to go onto zones.

Coming up, we are planning more fundraisers and we’ll start planning for rally and achievement days. Stay tuned for more updates.
