In Manchester, England in 2004, Michael Harvey introduced the first “Back to Church Sunday.” This multidenominational concept has since spread to 17 countries and more than 14,000 churches with 200,000 invitations to church accepted.

On Sunday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m., Rivers United Church will be holding its “Everyone in Church Sunday.” We are inviting you to attend. Congregational members are encouraged to reach out and ask a neighbour, friend or family member to join us for worship. You might consider inviting someone who is going through a difficult time; perhaps you would like to ask a family who is new to the area.

The church will be decorated and Rev. Glenna Beauchamp will deliver a special message. The choir is preparing a favourite anthem and Sunday School will be held. Coffee and cookies will be served following the service. If a ride is needed, please call Dianne Kowalchuk at 204-328-7690 or Karen Cullen at 204-328-7996. We hope you will join us!

In other church news, thanks to Lynn Madden and her crew, the recent thrift sale raised close to $1,000! Ten boxes of winter clothing were donated to Pop-up Store which offers free clothing

to the homeless of downtown Winnipeg. Our fall supper will be served at the church this Sunday, Oct. 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
