Logan Young and Daniel Heschuk of Neepawa put forth personal bests at the Zone 6/7 Cross-Country Open Meet earlier this month at Spruce Woods Provincial Park.

Young finished the varsity boys five kilometre run with a time of 16:46.5, while Heschuk finished less than a second behind Young at a time of 16:

Tigers track coach Bryce Koscielny says this is the first time in the last eight years that Neepawa Collegiate has had runners finish with a time of under 17 minutes at a cross-country event.

Other Neepawa Tigers participants who took part in the event include Nick Kuharski, who posted a time of 23:26.9 in the boys junior varsity five kilometre run, while Landon Young finished with a time of 23:41.1 in the same event.

On the girls side, Courtney Gilmour of the Tigers finished with a time of 17:21.5 in the junior varsity three kilometre run.

All of the Tigers track participants who participated at the meet will advance to the provincials, which is also slated to take place at Spruce Woods, Wednesday, Oct. 16.
