Bernard wins MJHL player of the week; Anderson takes home midget AAA honours

Jesse Bernard of the Dauphin Kings has been named the Manitoba Junior Hockey League player of the week for the week, ending Oct. 20.

The 20-year-old forward netted a goal and six assists for seven points  in three games for the Kings, who sit third in the Sher-Wood Division with seven wins and 13 points.

The runners up for the award are 17-year-old forward Jake Dudar of the Virden Oil Capitals and 20-year-old goaltender Braeden Ostepchuk of the Selkirk Steelers.


Anderson named midget player of the week

The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League player of the week is Ashton Anderson of the Yellowhead Chiefs. 

Anderson had five goals and six points in three games last week while also registering a +5 plus/minus rating.

Anderson, from Rivers, was the first overall selection by the Neepawa Natives in the MJHL Bantam Draft in 2012.
