Wheat Kings news: Pulock named to Team WHL for Super Series; Hawryluk named WHL player of the week

Brandon Wheat Kings captain Ryan Pulock has been named to Team WHL for the upcoming Subway Super Series.

The 19-year-old blueliner has five goals and 12 points in 13 games so far this season for the Wheat Kings since returning from the NHL's New York Islanders.

Team WHL will face Team Russia in Game 5 of the Super Series in Red Deer, Alta. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and will conclude the series on Thursday, Nov. 28, with Game 6 in Lethbridge, Alta. The QMJHL will host the first two games of the series, and the OHL will host Games 3 and 4.


Hawryluk named WHL player of the week

Jayce Hawryluk of the Wheat Kings is the WHL player of the week after netting six goals and two assists to go with a plus+4 rating in three games over the past week, helping the Wheat Kings post a 2-1-0-0 record on the road in that span.

Hawryluk, a native of Roblin, is in his second season in the WHL with the Wheat Kings, and currently leads the team in scoring with nine goals and 19 points in 17 games. 

He is eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft.
