MJHL: McCallum scores two as Blues defeat Flyers; Kings active on trade front

The Winnipeg Blues defeated the Winkler Flyers 5-2 in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action on Thursday night. 

Jordan McCallum scored twice for the host Blues, while Warren Callis, Scott Rowswell and Jackson Keane also scored for Winnipeg, who improved to 12-9-3 this season. 

 

League news and notes: Kings busy on trade front

The Dauphin Kings have traded 20-year-old forward Robbie Newton to the Virden Oil Capitals for future considerations.

Meanwhile, the Kings have dealt 19-year-old defenceman Joren Johnson and future considerations to the La Ronge Ice Wolves for the CJHL playing rights of 20-year-old defenceman Brett Hope.

The Kings made another move recently, trading 20-year-old forward Francis Alarie to the St. Jerome Panthers (LQAAAJ) for future considerations.

Lastly, the Steinbach Pistons have traded 19-year-old forward Anthony Walsh to the Brockville Braves for future considerations.
