Spartans advance to provincial AAAA final

The Brandon-based Neelin Spartans have advanced to the provincial AAAA girls high school volleyball championship final.

The Spartans varsity volleyball team defeated the Miles Mac Buckeyes in straight sets (3-0) in Wednesday's semifinal in Winnipeg at the University of Manitoba's Investors Group Athletic Centre.

Paige Thomson was named the player of the game for Neelin after recording nine kills, helping the Spartans advance to their second consecutive championship final against the MBCI Hawks on Monday night.

The Spartans won the AAAA title last season.
