The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the hiring of Danny McManus as their new assistant general manager on Monday.

McManus, a Canadian Football Hall of Famer, joins the Blue Bombers after spending the past three seasons as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats head U.S. scout. He also spent 2009 and 2010 as the Ti-Cats southeast regional scout.

McManus joined the organization in 2008 as an offensive assistant before moving into the scouting department in 2009.

The former Bomber quarterback played 17 seasons in the CFL winning three Grey Cups. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Blue Bombers from 1990-1992.

The Bombers also hired Ted Goveia as an assistant general manager and director of player personnel.

Goveia comes aboard after spending the 2013 season with the Toronto Argonauts as director of player personnel, overseeing scouting throughout both the United States and Canada, as well as the coordination of the CFL Canadian Draft. Prior to that, Goveia had been responsible for recruitment strategies in both Canada and the U.S. for the Argos, scouting various NFL pre-season camps.

Both McManus and Goveia join a management staff led by Kyle Walters, who had the 'acting' tag removed from his role as GM last week.
