The Dauphin Kings started strong and did not let up on goaltender Alex Henry and the rest of the Neepawa Natives on Tuesday, Nov. 26, on the way to a 5-3 win.

Dauphin peppered 17 shots at Henry in the first period. In those same 20 minutes of play, the Natives managed to generate two shots. Despite those one-sided numbers, the score remained gridlocked at 0-0 entering the second period.

It was only a matter of time though before the floodgates opened at Credit Union Centre in Dauphin; as the Kings scored five times in the second period on 19 shots on goal, including a hat trick from forward Tyler Garrioch.

Neepawa picked up the pace with 16 shots in the second on goaltender Connor Shaw but were only able to solve him once, with a goal from Steven Phillips.

Phillips notched a second goal for the Natives in the final frame. Drake Lindsay also ended the evening with a goal and an assist, while Riley Hillis contributed with a pair of assists. Dauphin ended the night with 44 shots on goal while Neepawa generated 31.

The losses dropped the Natives to 8-17-1 on the season. As of Wednesday night, the team had 17 points and were in eleventh place in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League standings.
