The Neepawa Natives put in a strong effort in Winnipeg on Thursday night, but were still unable to come away with a victory, as the Blues scored three goals in the third period to secure a 5-3 win.

Steven Phillips scored twice for the Natives while Brayden Atkinson scored the other goal on a power play mid way through the second period, to give Neepawa a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes. In the third, it was Taeron Lewis who lead the way for Winnipeg, scoring a natural hat trick for the Blues, including an empty net goal to take two points away from the Natives.

With the loss, Neepawa falls to 8-18-1 on the season. The Natives return to the ice tonight at the Yellowhead Centre, when they face the Portage Terriers.
