Henry Champ dead at the age of 75

Henry Champ, a Brandon University Chancellor and veteran broadcaster, died late last month in Washington, D.C. at the age of 75.

Born in Hartney and raised in Brandon, Champ got his start as a journalist at the Brandon Sun in the early 1960s.

Champ's journalistic career spanned almost five decades in Canada, the U.S. and Great Britain, died Sunday morning in Washington where he lived with his wife.

Champ spent 15 years with CTV’s investigative affairs show W5 and served as the network’s Washington and London bureau chief, and also worked for NBC in Europe and Washington before joining CBC Halifax in 1993.
