Brandon's own Cassie Hawrysh will not be heading to the Olympics in February.

Skeleton Canada opted to to pull its female skeleton racers out of the World Cup race on Friday in Austria. As a result, Canada will not be adding a third member to the Canadian skeleton team, which means Sarah Reid and Mellisa Hollingsworth will be the only two Canadian skeleton racers at the Games in Sochi, Russia.

Hawrysh was battling Robyn Thompson for the third spot on the Canadian Olympic team, but due to Friday's decision, neither will be taking part in the Games.

Meanwhile, on the men's side, Russell product Jon Montgomery is still in contention for a spot on the men's Olympic skeleton team. Montgomery needs a solid race at a World Cup race on Saturday.
