The final day of round robin games take place on Thursday. Playoffs begin on Friday.

(Update: Friday morning)

Neepawa's Kelly Robertson and his Manitoba curling rink won their final two round robin games on Thursday at the Canadian senior curling championship.

Robertson ended up stealing four in the fourth end en route to a 10-4 win over B.C. in their first game of the day and would later double up Yukon 10-5 in their second contest to finish in a tie for first place with Nova Scotia in the standings with a 9-2 record.

However, because Robertson lost to Nova Scotia's (Alan O'Leary) in the round robin earlier in the event, the Manitoba rink will finish in second place and thus, take part in a semifinal Friday night. A tiebreaker this afternoon between Northern Ontario and Alberta will determine who Robertson will face in the semifinal.

If Robertson is successful, he'll advance to the championship final against O'Leary.

Meanwhile, on the women's side, Brandon's Lois Fowler and her Manitoba crew edged B.C. 7-6 in their first game of the day on Thursday and followed it up with a 8-3 win over Newfoundland and Labrador later in the day.

Fowler finished with a 10-1 record, tying Saskatchewan's Lorraine Arguin for first place in the standings. However, Fowler takes top spot due to her win over Arguin earlier in the round robin and has advanced to the championship final on Saturday.
