Zane Lambert, formerly of Westbourne, ended up with a top four finish in bull riding at the Calgary Stampede.
Lambert, who now resides in Ponoka, Alta., was seeded second going into Sunday’s championship round, but wound up getting bucked off his bull “Feeling Blue”.
Scott Schiffner of Strathmore, Alta., wound up hanging on for a 89.5-point ride to finish in first place, while Ty Pozzobon of Merritt, B.C., finished second. Lambert joined Brazil’s Joao Ricardo Vieira as the two riders who were bucked off.
Lambert is the 2013 PBR Canada champion bull rider. He has qualified five times for the Canadian Finals Rodeo.
This was his second trip to the Calgary Stampede.
