Rivedale Golf and Country Club is a non-profit corporation that operates our local golf course. Management of the course is handled by a volunteer board of directors. Gayle Bullee operates the clubhouse and canteen. Brian Robins handles course maintenance, with assistance from his grandson Quinn Robins and neighbour Michael McFadden.

The golf course operates financially from membership dues, canteen and golfing operations. A small grant is received annually from RM of Daly. A number of tournaments are held each year, such as farmers’ classic, ladies, merchants, Legion, Lions and the Jason memorials.

As with other local courses, our club has struggled in recent years due to declining membership and community support. Through careful cash management, we have been able to continue making a profit. A number of upgrades to our turf equipment over the past four years leaves us with a reliable line. The last payment on new golf carts, purchased five years ago, was made on Aug. 1. Just breaking even after loan payments leaves few funds for ongoing improvements. Therefore, we have decided to do something a little different.

Join us on Saturday, Aug. 23 for a spud ‘n’ steak night. Golf is optional, with non-members paying our normal green fees. Green fees do not apply to members. Tee off times will be during the day with a cook-your-own steak supper at 7 p.m. We would appreciate your support for this event.
