The Virden Oil Capitals continue to be a riddle the Neepawa Natives are unable to solve. A pair of goals in the second period, including a short handed marker, powered the Oil Caps to a 5-2 victory over Neepawa at the Yellowhead Centre.
The victory was Virden's fourth of the season against the Natives. In those four games, Neepawa has been outscored 25-9.
Steven Phillips lead the way for Neepawa on the score sheet Sunday night with a pair of goals in the losing effort. Drake Lindsay also notched two assists and Riley Hillis added a single assist.
The loss drops the Natives to 8-16-1 on the season. Neepawa has 17 points and are now a single point out of the tenth and final playoff spot in the MJHL. The next game for Neepawa is on Tuesday, Nov. 25 in Dauphin against the Kings.
