The NACI Tigers have fallen to 2-1 on the season in the Rural Manitoba Football League, after a 25-18 loss to the Parkwest Outlaws on Friday, Sept. 25.
Quarterback Dylan Oshanyk led the Tigers on offence, going 7-for-9 in passing for 160 yards. He added a pair of touchdowns on 46 and 35 yard completions to receiver Jeremy Roe. Other highlights from the offence included Dillan Neufeld generating 23 yards and a touchdown on four carries. In total, the Tigers combined rushing game registered 75 yards on 24 carries.
The defence for NACI was kept extremely busy through the game, combining for 28 tackles, a pair of sacks and one forced fumble. Will Birnie generated 11 tackles.
Scott Dowd added two tackles and created the forced fumble, which was recovered by Rory Cathcart. The special teams results would see Neepawa put together seven returns for a combined 100 yards.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, NACI hosted a Rookie Football Jamboree, which featured teams from across western Manitoba. Neepawa defeated Neelin 26-20 and Swan River 38-14, but lost to the Dauphin Clippers in the A-side final 14-0.
