The Neepawa Natives recently travelled north for a pair of games against the OCN Blizzard. It was the second straight weekend that these teams would play a pair of games against one another. It would also be the second straight weekend they would end up splitting those games.

On Friday, Oct. 16, Neepawa would ride a four goal second period all the way to a 5-4 win. Kyle McDonald led the way with a pair of goals and an assist. Brayden Atkinson and Reigan Buchanan each tallied a goal and an assist to aid the Natives in generating their fifth victory. Jeremy Link stopped 38 shots in goal on the evening and earned his first win of the season.

The following night, OCN scored early and often, as they gained a measure of revenge on Neepawa with a 7-1 win. Blizzard forward Jeremy Dumont scored his seventh goal of the season, less than two minutes into the game. Kevin Muir and Maverick Rafter followed with additional goals before the end of the first period. OCN would tally a pair of goals in the second and third before Neepawa would ruin the shutout bid by Brody Claeys with less than a minute remaining.

The next game for Neepawa is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Yellowhead Centre against the Steinbach Pistons.
