Neepawa Figure Skating Club had a great start to its skating season.  This year, the StarSkate group was split into a Junior group, which skates on Monday and Friday and a Senior group, which skates on Tuesday and Friday.

The Junior group has 14 skaters while the Senior class has 12.  These skaters are coached by Cynthia Chartrand, Donalda Naismith and Kim Smith.   This group has just recently had a couple of successful test days and are getting ready for the competition season starting in January.

Zoie Forgue was the lone club member who attended the Manitoba Sectionals Competition  in November.  She competed in the novice category and placed sixth.

For this year, the club also has two synchro teams that are coached by Cynthia Chartrand.  The beginner one team has 14 skaters while the juvenile team has nine skaters.  The older team is attending a synchro monitoring session in December before their competitive season begins in January.

This year, the club has 28 CanSkaters who skate on Monday nights.  They are coached by Kim Smith and assisted by many of our older skaters.  In the Rising Stars program, there are 13 skaters who skate on Friday nights.  They are coached by Kim Smith and assisted by Zoie Forgue.

Currently, the club is busy getting ready for its annual “Christmas On Ice” on Friday, Dec. 18 at 6:00pm at the Yellowhead Centre.  Come out and see some great skating by all the skaters.
