The resounding defeat of the Manitoba NDP on April 19 was a long time coming. They won elections in 1999, 2004, 2007 and 2011. By 2016, their luck ran out and to many in Manitoba, it was none too soon. The NDP would never have won the 1999 election except for a combination of circumstances that worked in their favour.

The faithful fans of the Neepawa Natives came out en masse to meet the team’s new head coach. The Junior ‘A’ club hosted a meet and greet with Dustin Howden on Tuesday, Apr. 26 at Chicken Corral. A large number of season ticket holders came out to speak with the new bench boss and get an update on the preparations for the 2016-2017 MJHL season.
Pallister pumped with campaign success

Fresh off his historic win in the April 19 Manitoba election, PC Manitoba leader Brian Pallister held a conference call press conference with rural media. It was attended by about a dozen representatives from rural radio stations and newspapers.

From May 1 to 7, Manitoba communities will be celebrating Let No One Be Alone (LNOBA) week. LNOBA is an initiative created in 2012 to raise awareness for people, especially seniors and those with disabilities, living alone.
