The final game before the Christmas break ended in bitter disappointment for the Neepawa Natives, as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Portage Terriers on Saturday, Dec. 19.

What was once a comfortable lead atop the Tigers Hills Hockey League’s Eastern Division has turned into a paper thin margin for error for the Neepawa Farmers. Of course, the team’s recent losing streak hasn’t helped matters. Last weekend, the Farmers dropped a pair of games, extending their losing skid to four straight. As of Tuesday, Dec. 22, Neepawa was only one point ahead of the Carberry Plainsmen in the standings and three points better than Minnedosa.

Neepawa looking to clear up snow removal challenges

Administration for the Town of Neepawa is asking for a little bit of understanding from residents when it comes to the first major snowfall of the winter. A low pressure system struck southern Manitoba earlier this month and left between 12 to 15 centimetres of snow across the region.
