Minnedosa RCMP respond to fatal collision

On Aug. 4, shortly before 3:00 a.m., Minnedosa RCMP along with local fire and EMS responded to a serious collision involving a vehicle and three pedestrians at Provincial Road 262 by Road 85N, close to the entrance Rock in the Fields in Minnedosa.
Initial investigation shows that a southbound vehicle struck a male and female who were walking along the shoulder of the highway and then proceeded a short distance further and struck another male subject.
Local EMS treated and released on scene a 44-year-old male of Winnipeg, who had been walking alone. A 25-year-old male and 23-year-old female, both of Minnedosa were transported to local hospital where the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The female pedestrian was treated and released.
Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the collision.
The name of the deceased will not be released.
A 37-year-old suspect in custody.
