At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, Mike Mulligan and Matthew Bryce were driving to work at Mark Gill’s new fourplex unit in the 500 block of Third Avenue. They noticed one of Rivers’ police cars following a beaver that was walking down the street. After a quick chat with chief Bruce Klassen, the trio devised a plan to capture the creature. A garbage can was placed between a house and fence; guiding the beaver to the bin successfully trapped the animal. The caged beaver was then loaded into the Accent Roofing and Siding truck which took a short drive to the old dam where Mike and Matthew released it, unharmed.
