Bazaar benefits "babies"

What do you do when you love to organize and fundraise? Create an event and take it from there! That’s is exactly what we, Heather Gray and Sherri Dziver, are doing. We plan to do something every year and donate the proceeds to local non-profit organizations. We have chosen Riverdale Splashpark and Riverdale Community Daycare as benefactors for this inaugural event. After costs are taken care of, we will be splitting the proceeds between these two organizations, with the exception of the 50/50 draw.

Monies raised from the 50/50 will go to Riverdale Harvest and we will also have a hamper at the door for the collection of non-perishable food items for the foodbank. We are asking, if possible, to please keep with the Christmas theme when donating food items.

So, you are probably wondering what we are up to right now. Well, we are hosting a Christmas bazaar in the upper hall of Rivers Legion on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The majority of the vendors have homemade items but there will be much more so please, come out on this day and show your support!

There is an event page on Faecbook advertising the bazaar; if you are on Facebook please look it up. We are discussing creating a Facebook page where you can go to nominate organizations for next year’s efforts as well as information on what we will be up to next.
