Dakota Tipi shooting suspect found

Update: 3:10 pm

RCMP Sgt. Bert Paquet has confirmed that 31 year old Tyson Pashe was arrested at around 1:20 p.m. "following a brief foot pursuit," The accused was found thanks to tips from people in the community about his whereabouts.

No one was injured during the arrest, Paquet said in a press conference. He added that charges against Pashe have not been finalized, and police are not looking for any other suspects at this time.

Update: 2:00 pm

A suspect has been arrested in Dakota Tipi First Nation shooting. The RCMP will remain on the scene for an extended period.

Update: 11:15 am

Manitoba RCMP have confirmed they are searching for  a 31-year-old man in connection to a shooting at the Dakota Tipi First Nation, near Portage la Prairie.

Tyson Pashe, from Dakota Tipi is considered armed and dangerous.

As for the victims, RCMP said that a man and woman are in hospital in serious condition in connection to the shooting. RCMP said they were called on scene around 4:30 a.m. for reports of two shooting in two different residents in the community.

Officers have locked down the community sending out a tweet this morning asking people in the community near Portage la Prairie to "limit your movement, stay inside homes."

 RCMP are encouraging residents of the community to immediately call 911 if they spot something suspicious occurring.
