Neepawa approves 2016 budget

The financial plan for the Town of Neepawa has been approved. On Tuesday, May 3, Council gave second and third reading to the document, which allocates $7,655,027.81 towards the general operating fund and $5,047,751.51 to the utility operating fund.

Neepawa Belles, Beaux & Builders 4-H
The Neepawa Belles, Beaux & Builders 4-H Club wrapped up the year with our Achievement on May 2. It was held at Neepawa Collegiate in the Multi-purpose lunch room at 6:15 pm. Family, friends and members of the public were welcome to come and see the array of projects our members have worked on this year.
Neepawa was host to another 4-H event, the South Parkland Area 4-H Council Zone 1 Communications Competition on March 6, 2016. Forty members from Neepawa and area participated in this event.

Through art and culture we communicate. There is not one aspect of our day to day life that is not affected by art and culture.Think about it.

Premier Brian Pallister and 12 Progressive Conservative MLAs were sworn-in today as members of Manitoba’s new executive council in a ceremony conducted by Lt.-Gov. Janice Filmon. During the swearing-in ceremony, held at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Pallister spoke of his new government’s commitment to governing for all Manitobans based on the values of Manitobans. “I am humbled and honoured by the opportunity to serve Manitoba,” Pallister said. “Our team’s plan for a better Manitoba with lower taxes, better services and a stronger economy was overwhelmingly endorsed by Manitobans. We look forward to the opportunity to turn those commitments into reality. We know the job ahead of us will not be easy, but this is the right team to get Manitoba back on track.” The new executive council represents a one-third reduction in the size of Manitoba’s cabinet, setting a new tone at the top in conducting government business for Manitobans, Pallister said.
