Rivers and District Chamber of Commerce’s October meeting was full of information. The 14 members and two guests learned that this year’s Santa Claus parade will once again be prefaced with a pancake breakfast.

On Wednesday, after a week of almost unprecedented uproar in the Manitoba government, the announcement was made by NDP house leader, Steve Ashton that the legislature will sit this fall.
A throne speech will be read on Nov. 20 and the house will sit for two weeks.

The Order of the Royal Purple in Gladstone has celebrated a very significant milestone. On Friday, Oct. 24, the club commemorated its 65th year of operation during a dinner at the Senior Drop-In Centre.
