Representatives with HyLife Foods and the employees’ union will soon sit down and start negotiating a new deal. The current five-year contract is set to expire at the end of the year. UFCW Local 832 represents employees at the Neepawa plant and held a series of proposal meeting with its members on Sept 18.

On Sept 19, the Town of Neepawa announced that council had accepted Richard Beachey's resignation. Beachey came to Neepawa from St. Thomas, Ont. in 2012 to become the Town's CAO. The release stated that he resigned in order to pursue other opportunities.

The new space for Whitey’s Fitness Body Shop in Neepawa is taking shape. Earlier this week, the business completed its move to the basement at the former Co-op building, on Mountain Avenue. Owner and operator Sherrie Hockin said the new location provides them with much more space.
Sears outlet returning to Neepawa

It’s official, a Sears outlet will be reopening in Neepawa this fall. Local business owner Maureen Turner signed the papers last week that will see her take over the Sears catalogue business in Neepawa.
Neepawa’s Terry Fox Run a huge success

About 85 people took to the streets of Neepawa on Sunday to be a part of the annual Terry Fox Run. Kelly Krzyzaniak, the local Run Coordinator said about $7600 was brought in from the day, which raises money for cancer research and celebrates the memory of Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope. Krzyzaniak noted that’s unofficially about $1500 more than was brought in 2013.
