Yellowhead AAA Midget Chiefs’ captain and fourth year defenceman Jalyn Elmes has been selected to be a part of the final roster for Team Canada at the Under 18 World Championship. The event is to be held in January 2016, in St. Catherines, Ontario.

Bantam Chiefs successful at Hockey Showcase

The Yellowhead AAA Female Chiefs played in the Bantam AAA Showcase Dec. 11-13, in Winnipeg. Their first matchup was against the Central Plains Capitals at the MTS Iceplex on Friday, Dec. 11.

In a battle for the basement, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines proved to be the best of the worst on Wednesday, Dec. 16, trouncing the Neepawa Natives 5-1 at the Yellowhead Centre.

Neepawa Farmers falter over weekend

The Neepawa Farmers’ 10 game winning streak has come to an end, as the team dropped a pair of games over the weekend in the Tiger Hills Hockey League. The first defeat was at the hands of the Gladstone Lakers, who outpaced the Farmers in a 6-5 thriller on Friday, Dec. 11, at the Yellowhead Centre.
