It’s been a very eventful week for Quintin Lisoway.  First, the former Brandon Wheat King was named the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week, for his efforts with the Steinbach Pistons (five points in three games).

The offensive attack of the Steinbach Pistons was firing on all cylinders on Wednesday, Oct. 21, against the Neepawa Natives. Steinbach’s Luke Amsbaugh scored a pair of goals, while Tyler Penner notched a goal and two assists to lead the Pistons to a 6-1 victory.

A local coach  recently received some much deserved recognition, as Derek Pearson of Boxe Neepawa has been named the 2015 Sportsperson of the Year. Pearson, who has owned and operated the community boxing club since early 2014, received the honour on Saturday, Oct. 24, during the seventh annual Neepawa Sports Dinner.

The 2015-2016 regular season is about to start for the Tiger Hills Hockey League (THHL).  It will operate with 13 clubs this year, making it the largest senior league in Canada.
