Neepawa Natives coach Dwayne Kirkup has stated several times this season that the team is talented enough to compete with the best clubs in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. On Wednesday, Jan. 29, the players proved his point in emphatic fashion, with a 3-2 shootout win over the Steinbach Pistons.

The Neepawa Natives are playing some of their strongest, most consistent hockey of the season right now and are doing so against the best teams in the MJHL. Unfortunately, no rewards are coming from that valiant effort as they continue to lose those games, the most recent a 5-3 defeat to the Winnipeg Blues.
