The Neepawa Tigers cross-country team is preparing for its most important race of the season. Coach Bryce Koscielny said nine members of the team will compete in the upcoming provincial championships, which are scheduled for Oct. 15 at Spruce Woods Provincial Park.

Here are the new MJHL team rankings for Tuesday Oct. 7: The top three clubs from last week, Portage, Winnipeg and Winkler remain status quo. However, there is some movement further down the list after the Old Dutch/MJHL Showcase in Winnipeg.

The Yellowhead Chiefs have begun the 2014-15 Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League season with a couple of home wins against the Norman Northstars.

The Yellowhead Chiefs AAA Female midget team has started the regular season on a winning note, beating the Norman Wild in a pair of game over the weekend. Both matchups ended with identical 3-2 scores.
