What started out as a demonstration project has sent an example for others in the area to follow and we can visit the site whenever we wish. Its official name is the Rosedale Farm Conservation Project. It began as a joint venture between the RM of Rosedale and the Manitoba government. Since 1977, the farm has been managed by the Whitemud Watershed Conservation District.

What are our expectations for this week? Are we waiting for some special good news or maybe dreading the phone call and hearing some bad news? For the farmers the expectations are for nice sunny weather, perfectly working machinery and safety while trying to get the crop in.

We who live in The Banner’s coverage area have a national treasure virtually next door. It is the oldest of its kind in Manitoba. It covers an area of 3000 km, has over 400 km of hiking, bike, horse and wagon trails and, except for the lingering effects of the occasional forest fire, remains virtually as it was at the end of the ice age. This treasure is Riding Mountain National Park.
