The Neepawa Farmers have improved their regular season record to 9-1, with an impressive 7-3 win over the Deloraine Royals. The game, held on Saturday, Nov. 28 at the Yellowhead Centre, would see Neepawa control the majority of the action versus the defending Tiger Hills Hockey League champions.

Devin Epp and Lance Nugent each scored in the first period to secure the early lead for the Farmers. Things would then open up offensively in the second, as Neepawa and Deloraine scored three apiece, to make it 5-3 at the end of the second period. Lance Nugent added his second goal of the evening in the middle frame, while Justin Miller and Garett Rempel each added singles for the home side.

In the third, the Farmers would add a pair of goals late to secure their ninth straight win of the regular season and improve their overall record to a league best 9-1. Neepawa remains in the top spot in the THHL eastern division, with 18 points, four better than the second place Carberry Royals.

Elsewhere around the league on Saturday, Carberry defeated the Gladstone Lakers 9-6, the Minnedosa Bombers outlasted Pilot Mound 5-4, and the Souris Elks beat Boissevain 7-5. There were two games played on Sunday, Nov. 29; Hartney routed Melita 9-1 and Cartwright defeated Glenboro 4-3 in a shootout.
