After suffering losses in 2015, the Neepawa and District Chamber of Commerce presented a much stronger financial situation at their annual general meeting last week. Held at the Neepawa Curling Club on Jan. 30, the AGM and banquet drew a crowd of about about 50 local business people.

The Neepawa Heart and Stroke Campaign still needs volunteers to come forward and help out, by sitting at a table at the Neepawa Gladstone Co-op gathering donations and providing information to help people learn the signs of strokes.

Had they lived, they would be in their late 50s today. But they didn’t. Their lives were lost when a fire destroyed their home. Their funeral was the first of many I have conducted in the last 40 years. It is firmly etched in my memory because of the tragedy that took two precious lives.
