On Saturday, Alan Gillies celebrated the grand opening of his Internet radio station, studio and music store called, "Flashback Music and Collectables" in downtown Neepawa.

The ribbon cutting was celebrated by Kristine Loomis, Jennifer Sigurdson, Anita Hart, Neepawa Mayor Ken Waddell and Alan Gillies. Warren (Allan's dad) and Chrystabelle Cochrane were behind the counter.

A "Caution Wet Paint" tape was used for the ribbon as the smell of fresh paint permeated the store. Gillies said that the grand opening will be a month-long event and will include an occasional hotdog BBQ from time to time.

The store is a divison of G.E.M (Gillies Entertainment Media) and has a large selection of musical instruments, sound equipment, collector comic books, posters and even Winnipeg Jets jerseys.

The store is the home base for WMIR radio (WestMan Internet Radio) and can be tuned in on the web at WMIR.ca. The store also has a TV studio and studios for teaching music.

Flashback Music and Collectables is located at 266 Davidson Street.
