The second annual Science Symposium was held March 19 at Hazel M. Kellington school in Neepawa.
Co-organizer and Grade 5 teacher Sylvie Tomoniko said, “Pupils were asked to consider one of four topics: weather, simple machines, changes in matter or healthy bodies. Forty projects were undertaken, some individually, others with groups of two or three children. Three weeks were given for preparation with parents assisting with the experiments at home.”
New this year, Grade 8 students were asked to judge the exhibits. Additionally, 18 students in Grades 2-5 from the HMK Science Club attended the Western Manitoba Science Fair in Brandon on March 18.
