The Sept. 18 meeting of Rivers 50+ Club was called to order by president Adrienne Beaudin; she welcomed 21 members and two guests.

Games start in October. Lil Kopytko and Doreen Bate are organizing crib on the first and third Mondays of the month. (They reported that Percy Rosamond and Beth Schafer were top scorers for crib last season.) Wayne Brown is organizing floor curling every Thursday except for the third Thursday of the month, which is our regular meeting day. John Klassen is card bingo chairman; he will organize these games on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. David and Janice Waterfield, along with Myrtle Wooldridge, will organize movies on the first and third Fridays. Shuffleboard will be held Tuesday afternoons. Betty Frazer is organizing  darts for Wednesday mornings (10 a.m.) In addition to movies, David Watefield is organizing pool games on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m. Except for pool and darts, all games start at 2 p.m.

When Rivers 50+ Club hosts games, we play by Manitoba Society Of Seniors rules, not Westman Senior Council (WSC) rules. We are a WSC member so this has caused some discord with some clubs who also belong to WSC. It has been suggested we leave WSC but more discussion is needed on this subject.

Sunshine convenor Betty Frazer sent out four get well/sympathy cards. Nomination committee chairman is Ken Young with Lil Kopytko and Audrey Ashton assisting. Supplying cookies for our work at Riverdale Personal Care Home on Sept. 30 are Katie Kroeger and Linda Klassen.

Our birthday table, at which several members sat, was decorated with a fall theme by table co-ordinator Myrtle Woolridge.

Our next meeting is Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.
