Further to last week’s front page story about one of Rivers’ newer business, more details have been confirmed for the car wash. Readers may recall that Clean Under Pressure will demonstrate its spot-free Pure Water System on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Working with Rivers Elementary School Grade 6 students, donations will be accepted during the four-hour event. Scheduled on the school grounds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the fundraiser will be announced over Star FM, which will be in attendance for the first three hours.

“Rivers Police Service will be on hand, and I have invited Rivers Fire Department to stop by, but they have not confirmed as of yet,” says owner David Creighton. “The event co-ordinator for the Star FM community cruiser is connected with ACC radio so I’ve already done an interview with them and getting promotion of the event that way. I’m really looking forward to this and the kids are excited about it too.”

Money collected at the car wash will be given to the school to use at its discretion. A minimum donation is suggested on the posters now placed around Rivers and that minimum will also be promoted on signs at the school. You may also offer extra support to the school by having your lunch there — hot dogs and drinks will be sold.
