      Secretary-treasurer

Nineteen members of Rivers 50+ Club met on Oct. 16. President Adrienne Beaudin quizzed us on how much we know about Manitoba. Our treasurer reminded us memberships are due.

The games report indicated all games have started for the season; we would appreciate more members coming out to participate. The new curling rocks will be used from now on. We are still waiting on information for a date for Westman games.

Nominating chairman Ken Young installed members into their positions, beginning with himself as president. Audrey Ashton was installed as vice-president, with the understanding that she would not accept the president’s position on a permanent basis. Myrtle Wooldridge is secretary-treasurer; Caroline Wells is games co-ordinator and will be assisted by McGee Smith; Janice Waterfield is in charge of purchasing. Directors serving for one-year terms are Caroline Wells, Georgina Bollman, Lil Kopytko and Beth Schafer; directors serving for two-year terms are Florence Brown, Percy Rosamond, Olive Johns and Katie Kroeger. Myrtle is in charge of co-ordinating cookies for the 50+ entertainment sessions at Riverdale Personal Care Home. Lil Kopytko will be assisted by Lisa Smith to schedule cribbage games. Beth Schafer is responsible for the birthday table. Doreen Bate will manage card bingo. Movies will be decided by David and Janice Waterfield and Myrtle Wooldridge. Lil Kopytko, Olive Johns and Ina Hyndman are the phoning committee.

The meeting closed with the singing of God Save the Queen. The birthday table was decorated with a Halloween/fall theme and was attended by six members.
