Heavy snowfall is expected to strike many parts of western Manitoba on Friday night as Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Brandon, Carberry and Treherne, and warnings for the rest of Southern Manitoba along the US border.

Environment Canada is expecting snow accumulations of 10 to 15 cm with the highest snowfall amounts close to the U.S. border.

Just outside the warned regions, between five to 10 cm is expected with gusty winds developing and creating poor visibilities for drivers.  The system is expected to end on Saturday morning.
