The last two weeks of December the ladies afternoon and evening curlers at Rivers Curling Club celebrated the Christmas season with a shortened curling game, a bevy of assorted wonderful goodies, some Christmas songs and fashionable “Christmas-inspired” attire.

Both groups were advised that their fundraising efforts before Christmas went very well. They had facilitated a fundraising venture with Old Style Butcher Shop (11 miles south of Brandon on Hwy. 10). The butcher shop produced ham garlic sausage rings which the lady curlers sold. They raised approximately $820 towards the purchase of a sink and kitchen cabinets for the curling lounge. Many compliments were received on the quality and taste of the rings so it may be that this fundraiser could be repeated next year. Everyone looks forward to curling in the new year, and the ability to utilize the new sink and cupboards!
