In attendance at the 17th annual Rivers and Area Game and Fish Association’s buck night on Nov. 30, 2013 was Sam Healey, owner and proprietor of Healey’s Lodge at God’s Lake Narrows.

At this event, he announced he would donate to the host association a three-day four-night fly-in guided fishing excursion for two. The donation could be used as a fundraising raffle prize.

Subsequently, club member and now-president Dave Falkevitch, was successful in securing from Perimeter Airlines two free return air flight tickets from Winnipeg to God’s Lake. He was also successful in obtaining a raffle permit. Tickets were then printed and sold by association members. The draw for the prestigious prize, valued at approximately $6,000, was made by donor Sam Healey at the association’s 18th annual trophy buck night on Nov. 29, 2014. The lucky winner was Rivers resident Mike Perrault. Since he was unable to attend big buck night, the official presentation took place on Jan. 6. The winning tickets was sold to Mike by his co-worker (and association member) Craige Madden.

Joining Mike on the trip, which has been planned for the latter part of June 2015, will be his cousin, Roger Perrault, who hails from Calgary. Mike lives on Willow Drive with his wife Carla and sons Nolan and Holden.
