On Wednesday, April 1 Kenton Memorial Hall was the place to be if you liked to play bingo. Woodworth Senior Services (WSS)  hosted a ham bingo and bake sale; winners went home with a ham and a package of perogies. Another winner was that of the door prize, available to those who bought advance tickets.

WSS co-ordinator Colleen Elliott thanked everyone for their help in putting the bingo on, and gave credit to those who had supported it. Regular caller Linda Kent was replaced on short notice by Bob Good of Kenton because she was not available due to an accidental fall. Refreshments were available at the canteen.

Thursday, April 2 was the annual pet licence registration with Kelly Thomson and shots clinic with Dr. Carla Loewen from Virden Animal Hospital who came to the Kenton Fire Hall to administer the shots to our animals.

Saturday, April 4 a bridal shower was held at the Kenton Legion clubroom for Andrea Boyle, daughter of Mike and Linda Boyle, formerly of Kenton, now Neepawa. She received some lovely gifts. Her wedding will be in July and then they will move to Calgary.

Saturday evening some of the Kenton and Area Lions Club members made their way to Rivers Legion Hall for the district governor’s supper and meeting. Our own Bob Good won the Ben Ward Fellowship Award; see the story on the front page for more information.
