The pie sale for Riverdale Harvest was a huge success! Rivers Home Hardware graciously allowed us to set up our sale in their back room as the wind was nasty on Saturday, April 18. In only two hours we were completely sold out. A special thank you to so many of you who donated pies to our sale, to those who made donations and of course, all our pie buyers! In total we raised $505 from this endeavour, which will help us prepare for the lean summer months.

We also want to recognize all the people who regularly support us through the drop boxes at Rivers Bigway Foods, Rivers’ Super Thrifty and all the local churches. Some individuals have been consistently financially supporting us, too, which makes a wonderful difference.

We have many groups that have recently supported us as well: Rivers Women’s Institute, the hospital staff and Ladies’ Swap Night.

Prior to Easter local churches were challenged to donate 40 cans for the 40 days of Lent and we are truly grateful for the items donated then, along with all the financial support.
