Rivers 50+ Club Secretary

Rivers 50+ Club met on May 21 with 23 members present. President Ken Young welcomed the group and the meeting opened with members singing O Canada. The term deposit pledged to Rivers Health Action committee will be turned over to them on its due date, Oct. 21.

A thank you card was received from Ilsa Verbrugger who was awarded the $100 Rivers 50+ Club citizen award. Hotshots floor curling will be held at 1 p.m. on June 4; cake and coffee will be served for lunch. An invitation will be extended to Rapid City to take part. Two teams went to Deloraine on April 21 for  carpet bowling. The floor curling tournament for North/South finals was held in Rivers on April 23; six teams attended from Rivers, Sandy Lake and Rapid City. Adrienne Beaudin organized court whist on May 14; 32 players came from Virden, Hamiota, Oak Lake, Rapid City and Rivers. Most game activities have shut down for the summer months. 

Ken will ask George Kroeger to help relocate the speaker away from the northwest corner to the north wall. 

Several members sat at the birthday table which was decorated with a lovely floral centrepiece. The next meeting is June 18 at 2 p.m. This meeting closed with the singing of God Save The Queen. Fellowship was enjoyed for an hour and cake /ice cream and beverage were served.
