Members stopping vehicles over the past several weeks issued tickets for driving without a valid licence (two), driving without driver’s liability insurance (two), carrying liquor in a vehicle contrary to the Liquor and Gaming Control Act (fine $237.50) and the usual speeders.

The “Speeder of the Week” is broken into two categories: regular speeding (135 kilometres in a 100 zone for a fine of $508.75) and speeding in a construction zone ($1,359.50 fine.)

Warning tickets were issued to people for having burnt out headlights and no front licence plates.

One item most members of the public don’t realize is that having covers over their licence plates is a ticketable offence. The fine is $203.80.  Covers distort the plates when going through photo radar and are therefore illegal.
